Arne Hovmand - Olsen
Arne Hovmand Olsen began apprenticing to cabinetmaker P. Olsen Sibast in 1938. After completing his apprenticeship in 1941, Arne enrolled in
Aarhus, a technical school specializing in furniture design. Here, he developed his skill and signature forms. Once qualified, Arne started
his own studio creating furniture, influenced by Scandinavian design and executed in a simple and light style. His furniture was sold in Denmark, but was mainly exported overseas, throughout Europe and to the United States. This led to Arne's work becoming internationally renowned and recognised. His studio closed in the 1970's.
